Code Signer Pro is a very useful tool that allows you to digitally sign many files with one click. It is a graphical front-end that sends commands to the signtool.exe and pvk2pfx.exe utilities included as part of in the Microsoft Platform SDK (see the Bin folder).
With the advent of increased security on the Windows XP and Vista platforms it is becoming increasingly important for professional software developers to sign their files digitally using Code Signing Certificates provided by an approved certificate issuing body, such as Verisign, Comodo and others.
Code Signing Certificates give the following assurances to the end-user:
- Ensures software came from software publisher
- Protects software from alteration after publication
The code signing tools distributed by Microsoft are command-line console applications which are not always the easiest to use, especially for those who came to computing after the DOS era. Code Signer Pro makes using these tools as easy as dragging and dropping the files on a list, setting a few parameters and clicking one button - too easy!
